WVU Libraries to take questions on #AskAnArchivist Day, Oct. 7
Posted by Monte Maxwell.September 28th, 2020
October 7 is #AskAnArchivist Day. This day-long event, held on Twitter and sponsored by the Society of American Archivists, provides an opportunity to connect directly with archivists at West Virginia University Libraries and at institutions around the country to ask questions, get information or just satisfy one’s curiosity.
Staff at the West Virginia and Regional History Center will participate via the Libraries’ Twitter handle, @wvuLibraries, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
As professional experts who do the exciting work of protecting and sharing important historical materials, archivists have many stories to share about the work they do every day to preserve fascinating documents, photographs, audio and visual materials, artifacts, and even digital materials.
To participate, tweet questions directly to @wvuLibraries or use the hashtag #askanarchivist to pose a query to archivists around the country. Other options include following along at twitter.com/hashtag/AskAnArchivist?src=hash, asking WVRHC archivists questions on Facebook and Instagram, or sending a message through the Center’s contact form.
