Senator John Davison (Jay) Rockefeller IV served the people and state of West Virginia for more than 50 years. He came to West Virginia in 1964 as a VISTA volunteer and served in the United States Senate from 1985-2015. This photograph from 1986 shows Senators Rockefeller, Robert Byrd, and Jennings Randolph at a birthday celebration for Byrd.
